Asleep In A Fistfight
04:32

I hit the snooze at least eight times
Before I drew the strength to rise from my bed.
I was thirty minutes late for a fifty minute class.
I fell asleep in lecture break
And slept right through my first lunch date
With the girl of my dreams
She called me later on that day
To oh-so-carefully explain
She'd never speak to me again.
I fell asleep in a fistfight, it didn't go well
And I slept right through eleven meal times in a row
And when you come like a thief in the night, I'll be sleeping.
I've been doing it my whole life.
I grabbed my bike and started home
To end the day how it began.
It was warm that afternoon, so I pulled into the alleyway for a nap.
I didn't find it straight away
But on my face later that day
I found my new tattoo...
I fell asleep in a fistfight, it didn't go well
And I slept right through eleven meal times in a row
And when you come like a thief in the night, I'll be sleeping.
I've been doing it my whole life.
I slept through the hurricane,
I slept through the flood,
I slept as the wolves descended,
Drawn by my blood.
I slept through the famine,
I slept through the feast,
And while I was sleeping,
I was marked by the beast.
I knew that you were calling me,
I saw you through the sheets...
But I couldn't face the daylight,
It showed all my misdeeds.
I heard the alarm ring out
But I did not take heed,
I just pulled the covers higher
And drifted slowly back to sleep.

Blood & Wine
04:05
|
|||
I have been a ruthless killer for thirty score & ten,
I have been the Devil's fingers, I have killed a thousand men.
I have drunk the blood of peasants, I have dined with ancient kings,
I have seen the best & worst of everyone, everything.
I've been living in the mountains, I've been hiding in the dark.
I'm the shiver down your spine, the missing beat of your heart.
I have taken what I wanted, I have done what I pleased,
I'm The Lord of the Carpathians, the worst you've ever seen.
I lost the taste for blood and I can't get it back,
Now I don't know what to do.
I descended on the villagers on winter's longest night,
Looking for a mistress to whet my appetite.
I found my victim hiding underneath her floor,
She was screaming all the way as I dragged her to my door.
I lost the taste for blood and I can't get it back, Now I don't know what to do.
I was a baker,
I had three kids...
I was bitten in an alleyway:
A vampire was made.
How I miss them
Now they are gone!
I couldn't look them in the eye,
A monster took their mother's life,
I can't believe it was me!
I lost the taste for blood and I can't get it back, It happened somewhat gradually,
I wandered off the track.
I swear I'll leave this life behind,
The taste of fear, of blood & wine.
I'll set sail across the sea
Bound for Panama & better dreams.
